Open Question: Flying from Burbank,CA to Seattle would you choose Southwest or alaska air?

In april I'm planning on flying from burbank,ca to seattle,wa. I can either go southwest with one stop and/or change planes or alaska air non-stop. there are pros and cons to both. Southwest is flexible with cancellations if you are unable to go or need tochange your flight. Alaska air tickets are non-refundalbe and non changable. Southwest will allow two free pieces of luggage checked for free. Alaska air charges $25 for each piece of chekced luggage. Unfortunatley I will need to check a piece of luggage. The price for the alaska air non-stop verses southwest flight with a stop is the same price. If you add an extra $25 for my checked piece of luggage alaska is more expensive. I have flown both southwest and alaska to portland,oregon. I don't have a problem with either airline. Unfortunaltey I have some snobby friends who refuse to fly southwest. Which option is better?...
